3348694 - Prevent Automatic Logoff of Users

The system signs out a user after an hour of inactivity in a particular screen. 

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Production Control work center. 
2. Navigate to the Task Control view
3. Select a task, choose the confirm button. 
4. Leave the screen as is for an hour, after an hour the system times out. 

The business user wants this time out to be extended and wants to have this increased at-least up to four hours.

PS : Please note that if the user is inactive in any screen in ByDesign the same behaviour can be observed.

For security reasons users are automatically logged off the system if they have been inactive in the system for a certain period of time. You have to adjust the Inactivity Duration value in the system to prevent auto log-off by the system. You will not be able to completely disable the auto user logoff option in the system. 

Please follow below given steps to adjust/change the Inactivity Duration in the system.

1. Navigate to and select the User Icon in the top right corner of ByDesign system.
2. Choose the Key User Settings Option and select Company Settings. 
3. Navigate to the auto Logoff tab. 
4. In the field Inactivity Duration you can define the duration of inactive time. 
5. You can choose from 15 minutes to 4 hours as Inactivity Duration. 

If you leave this field empty the system will logoff inactive users from the system after one hour.
