3348875 - ASE server failed to start after upgrade via SAP Host Agent - SAP ASE for BS

Symptom

  • After upgrading the ASE server via SAP Host Agent, you get error:
    ERROR: log parser detected occurances of message 'Database 'master' is now online.' in /sybase/<SID>/ASE-16_0/install/<SID>.log
    grep: can't open /sybase/<SID>/ASE-16_0/install/<SID>.log 

  • You are not able to start the ASE server via script like startsap or startdb.
