3348879 - DDLGEN fails with syntax error on a table with a column name containing an apostrophe - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • DDLGEN is terminated after user table reports a syntax error, for example:
    ddlgen -Usa -Shostname:port# -TU -N% -O  -Dmydb dbname_ddl.sql -Ppassword
    U58: com.sybase.jdbc42.jdbc.SybSQLException: Incorrect syntax near 's_fax'.
    : mydb.dbo.tab
  • sp_help tab shows a column name as "clerk's_fax"
