Symptom

- Installation of SAP system on Windows  fails.  In  sapinst_dev.log  the error is similar to the following:

failed with return value -1073741515

- SUM fails with error  similar to the following:

3 ETQ120 20240110201630: PID 4620 execute '~\exe\disp+work -V', output written to '....XXXX\SUM\abap\log\disp+work_exe.out'.
3WETQ123 20240110201634: PID 4620 exited with status -1073741515 '' (time: 0.00 real)
1EETQ399 The tool 'disp+work' stopped with an invalid return code '-1073741515'!
