3349786 - HOW TO CREATING A NEW PAY CODE BY DUPLICATING AN EXISTING PAY CODE?

Symptom

It is common when creating a new pay code to start by copying an existing pay code. Starting in WorkForce Time and Attendance version 17.1 and later, the Duplicate and Connect Pay Code function simplifies this process. When you use this function to duplicate a pay code, the new pay code is automatically added to several types of policies where the source pay code existed:

  • Pay code sets
  • Pay Code Map policies
  • Time Entry Group policies
  • Timesheet Calculation policies
  • Time Off Request policies
  • ADP Export policies

Environment

SAP WorkForce Time and Attendance, version 17.1 and later

Resolution

To duplicate a pay code:

  1. Go to Policy Records > Pay Codes > Pay Code.
  2. Select the pay code you want to copy.
  3. Right-click and choose Duplicate and Connect Pay Code.

Duplicate and Connect Pay Code menu option

  1. Enter a name and description for your pay code.
  2. Choose Duplicate and Connect.

Duplicate and Connect Pay Code dialog

The pay code is added to all effective-dated versions of all linked policies. A comment is added to the new pay code, but not to any of the linked policies in which the pay code is added (such as the Pay Code Map policy).
