3349830 - Changing EPM Add-in report connections for multiple workbooks after a moving to a new BPC server

Symptom

The existing EPM reports keep on connecting to the old BPC server URL after a migration or change in the BPC server.

  • This behavior is noticeable if the EPM reports were saved without enabling the "Do not store environment" setting in the report options. In this situation each connection's information details including the connection URL is stored inside the report.
  • When the name of the BPC server is changed, the EPM Add-ing will attempt to connect to the connection stored in the reports.
  • If the original / old BPC server is unavailable then the connection attempt will fail and the user will be prompted to select a new connection or provide credentials.
