3351457 - Approval not correctly routed after User Merge


After a user merge, User A is merged with User B, where both User A and User B are managers.

If there are pending approvals for User A before the merge these approvals are then not available for User B to complete after the merge.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. User A reports to a Manager A.
  2. User A raises request for a course which requires approval and the approval request reaches Manager A but is not approved.
  3. Later Manager A is merged into a new user (Manager B).
  4. From the admin side, for the user A, it shows that the approval request is pending at Manager B.
  5. But on logging as Manager B, the pending approval request is not visible in the Manager B's home page.


At present this is a known issue which LMS Engineering are working towards resolving. 

The expectation is that a fix for this issue will be made available in the upcoming b2311 release. Provisional dates for this release are October 13th 2023 for preview instances and November 17th for production. Dates are subject to change.
