3351734 - How to enable auditing to track every persistence action and its payload change for items

Symptom

When an item is created, modified and deleted, you may want to audit the persistence action. Or some changes which break your system functionality could be restored to recover the functionality, but you would like to understand who/when/what change triggers the problem.

  • If the actions are done in Backoffice, you may refer to KBA 3114984 - How to track item deletion/modification performed in Backoffice to check the SavedValues.
  • If it's not done in Backoffice, or the deletion of item in SavedValues only provides the PK which doesn't provide more details, please follow below steps to enable generic auditing.

Please notice that auditing your own data change is not within the Product Support scope. It needs to be performed from your end.
