3352433 - Translations for standard "Display Name" field do not apply

Symptom

Changes made to the “Display Name” field under Manage Business Configuration > Employee Profile > Standard > Display Name do not take effect.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Manage Business Configuration > Employee Profile > Standard > Display Name
  2. Make any changes to this element, for example update the label and set different translations for it for your enabled languages
  3. Check your Employee Profile > Personal information for display name (if using EP personal information and display name) > note the translations have not changed for any language
  4. Display Name will continue to display as Display Name for all languages regardless of what you have set for each language

Cause

This is an expected system behavior.

Resolution

The DISPLAYNAME element is automatically enabled in the Succession Data Model and cannot be maintained via the Business Configuration UI (BCUI). 

Although the element is visible in BCUI, any changes made there do not take effect.
