3352690 - Error approving workflow: "error occurred when transitioning the workflow"- Employee Central

Symptom

When trying to approve a workflow following error appears: "error occurred when transitioning the workflow".

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Position Management

Cause

You are using Position to Job Relationships sync however Job Relationships Type field is disabled in manage business configuration. The job relationship type is a required field and should be enabled in the configuration as per documented guide:

Resolution

Please enable the job relationship type field in business configuration:

  1. Manage Business Configuration
  2. JobRelationshipsInfo
  3. Add and configure the Job Relationship Type field as guide: https://help.sap.com/docs/successfactors-employee-central/data-model-field-information-for-employee-central/job-relationships?locale=en-US&source=redirect
  4. Save it

After the above configuration you should receive no error.
