Symptom
Recruiting users can use tags and tag searches to add more information to a candidate’s profile to increase the candidate’s searchability.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
Permissions
- Provisioning>Company Settings>Recruiting Application
- Provisioning>Candidate Profile XML is configured.
- Enable Candidate Tagging Permissions from Admin Center>Manage Permission Roles>Permissions>Recruiting Permissions.
- Enable Standalone Search Permission from Admin Center>Manage Permission Roles>Permissions >Recruiting Permissions.
Tag a Candidate:
A recruiting user with candidate permission opens a candidate profile or application record, clicks “Add” in the Tags portlet and types in the desired tag. As the user types, the system prompts the user with possible tag matches based on tags previously entered into the system. Note that tags and type-ahead are case-sensitive, which isn’t configurable.
The system suggests only tags entered in the locale of the user tagging the candidate. This is intuitive, but can be less intuitive when working with the en_US and en_UK language packs where users can expect tags to be available across multiple locales.
Note: There’s no way to restrict users to selecting tags only from a predefined list, although it’s possible for Professional Services to support a preload of tag definitions to prebuild the type-ahead prompts.
As an alternative to restricting users to selecting from a list of predefined tags, customers can consider configuring a custom background element on the Candidate Profile XML. The custom background element can include picklists of the desired searchable options.
