Symptom
The Purchase Order document was created and released for a intercompany scenario, however the follow up Sales Order document is created but not automatically released.
The Sales Order is created with the status "In Preparation".
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Sales Orders Work Center.
- Go to the Sales Orders View.
- In the search field, search for the Sales Order ABC (ABC represents the Sales Order ID).
- Select View All.
The following error messages are displayed in the document:
- Organizational data missing
- Party with role Sales Unit missing
- Tax calculation failed; trigger a calculation again
- Item: Distribution channel or sales organization missing
The Sales Order ABC was created as a follow up document from the Purchase Order, however the status of the Sales Order is "In Preparation".
Cause
An intercompany Sales Order is only automatically released if the Sales Order is consistent.
Due to the mentioned errors the Sales Order is not consistent and therefore it is not released automatically when it is created.
The errors in the Sales Order ABC are displayed because the Parties Sales Unit, Sales Organization and Distribution Channel cannot be determined automatically in the system as per your set up and therefore no Sales Unit, Sales Organization and Distribution Channel are maintained in the Organizational Assignment section of the Sales Order.
Resolution
You need to ensure that the Parties Sales Unit, Sales Organization and Distribution Channel are determined automatically.
