3352852 - Transfer of Control Dates in Value Chain Monitoring Relevant Processes

This document provides details regarding the handling of transfer of control (ToC) dates in connection with the Change Outbound Delivery app and Proof of Delivery (POD) for deliveries related to the following value chain monitoring relevant processes:

Technical Details

Transfer of control (ToC) dates are defined as follows:

Internal transfer of control date (applicable to advanced intercompany sales only) - The date on which the control of goods is transferred from the delivering company to the selling company.

Internal transfer of control date (applicable to advanced intercompany stock transfer only) - The date on which the control of goods is transferred from the delivering company to the receiving company.

External transfer of control date - The date on which the control of goods is transferred from the selling company to the customer.

The following table lists the business process specific relevance for internal and external transfer of control dates:

The default values of the planned transfer of control dates are as follows:

• Planned internal transfer of control date: the planned goods issue date.
• Planned external transfer of control date: the delivery date.

Actual transfer of control dates:

• Transportation Management supports the business process advanced intercompany sales. For internal and external transfer of control, there is planned and actual transfer of control. The transfer of control dates and times in the LE delivery are set by TM, based on transportation planning and actual events. You can find the planned and actual internal and external transfer of control dates and times in the Shipment tab in the LE delivery. The system uses the following logic to determine the planned and actual dates:

1. If the actual date is determined, it is used.
2. If the actual date has not been determined, the planned date is used.

Note	Executing Proof of Delivery (POD) with the advanced intercompany sales and sell from stock with VSiT processes does not update the transfer of control dates. Executing POD only changes the POD status of the delivery so that subsequent activities like invoice creation can occur.

Configuring and Editing Transfer of Control Dates

You have the following options for configuring and editing ToC Dates:

Configuration	You can use the configuration step Define Delivery Types to add an offset to these planned internal and external transfer of control dates. An offset is the time by which the scheduled execution of the transfer of control is delayed if only the planned execution time is given in the Planned Transfer of Control Date delivery header's field. By defining an offset for the transfer of control, the automatic execution of the transfer of control with reference to the defined date is delayed by the specified time. In addition, when adding the offset duration, the factory calendar of the corresponding shipping point is taken into account to specify an execution time within working hours. Manual Editing	You can use the app Change Outbound Delivery (VL02N) to manually change the transfer of control dates.
