3353542 - Define Account Group for Chart of Accounts in Define Account Group

Not able to define Account Group for Chart of Accounts other than operational standard chart of accounts YCOA in configuration step Define Account Group (SSCUI 103508).

1. Go to app Manage Your Solution.
2. Select the configuration step Define Account Group (SSCUI 103508).
3. Click on New Entries.
4. Unable to define Account Group for Chart of Accounts other than YCOA.

Account groups can only be defined for the operational standard chart of accounts YCOA.

The account group controls fields that are on company code level. This is not required for alternative/group chart of accounts. When creating an alternative chart of accounts, one default account is created that can be copied for further accounts. This account has an assignment to the default account group (DFLT). The alternative Chart of Accounts only have one account group, the default account group. Account groups have no functionality in an alternative chart of accounts except for the number range restriction. SAP delivered alternative chart of accounts has account groups because they historically originate from the On-Premise environment, where creating account groups is not restricted on the operational Chart of Accounts YCOA.
