3353559 - Preventing delivery item creation after outbound delivery is saved

Symptom

When creating an outbound delivery that has reference to a sales order, it is possible to add new delivery items after it is saved.

Environment

S/4HANA Cloud

Cause

By default, a user can add delivery items without reference to a sales order to an outbound delivery with reference to a sales order. This is a standard behavior.

Resolution

Shipping BAdI “Modify Delivery Item” (LE_SHP_MODIFY_ITEM) can be used to prevent the creation of new delivery items. The condition depends on the business scenario and the cases the delivery item creation should be prohibited.
