3353712 - User entity fields become not editable in LMS after user accessed Report Center

Symptom

PERSON_GUID column is not configured in User Connector-SF and Person ID Connector is not scheduled.
However, when user accesses Report Center in BizX, PERSON_GUID is synced to LMS and the user entity fields become not editable.
Why is PERSON_GUID synced even SAC is not enabled?

Reproducing the Issue

Login system > Find a user who hasn't synced PERSON_GUID > notice all user fields are editable in LMS
Login BizX as this particular user > go to Report Center > in network trace see a call like below
‘https://xxxx.plateau.com/learning/user/deepLinkRedirector.do?OWASP_CSRFTOKEN=BWDI-KYSK-VIS1-DQVY-9BIQ-M7S1-KR68-JKD4&linkId=SAC_INTEGRATION&fromSF=Y&company=xxxxxx' is hit
Go to Learning Administration> Users > Try to edit the user data again > See the HR core fields are not editable now >PERSON_GUID is synced for this user.

Cause

PERSON_GUID will be passed to LMS once user accessed Report Center in BizX even SAC (Story Report) is not enabled.

Resolution

As per current design, personGUID is synced when user launches Report Center irrespective of SAC enablement.

"personGUID" is technical column, used for all BizX-LMS integration and is not specific to SAC-LMS integration.

As per current implementation,

1)When a user launches Report Center in a LMS integrated BizX instance, the application checks if PERSON_GUID is updated for the user

2)If the PERSON_GUID is not set, the application publishes an event to update the PERSON_GUID

3)Since the update happens in the background and PERSON_GUID is necessary for several integration, we have not restricted the update only to SAC enabled instance.

This behavior is as per design.
