3354908 - Error "Hostname and service name not provided or found" in Diagnostics Agent logs - SAP Solution Manager 7.2

Symptom

During the execution of the "Managed System Configuration" for JAVA systems, the "Test Logon" for the JAVA Administrator user in step "Enter System Parameters" fails with the error: A technical error occured; Java credentials could not be checked.

From SMDAgentApplication.*.log, the following error appears: 

[Thread[FileSystemService_17468216,5,main]    ] Error      Error to retrieve the process from Message Server (detail: java.net.UnknownHostException: <EM host>: Hostname and service name not provided or found)
[EXCEPTION]
java.net.UnknownHostException: <EM host>: Hostname and service name not provided or found
