Symptom

Demand Planning - Uploading Key Figures

You found that there is a limit to upload only 1200 line items for a demand plan.
Now you would like SAP to increase the limit to the maximum possible, because your customer have weekly demand for multiple Products for which this range is not sufficient.

Environment

Product version: SAP Business ByDesign 2305

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the Demand Planning work center.
  2. Go to the Demand Plans view.
  3. Select a relevant Demand Plan and click of Upload.
  4. Open the downloaded Excel Template.
  5. Go to the UploadProductAndPeriod tab.
  6. You can see under "Adding Data" that the maximum possible allowed Entries is given as 1200 rows which for instance, in a montly plan, corresponds to a set of 100 products in one planning area and in one demand plan for an history horizon of 12 months.

Cause

There is a hard limit of 1200 rows due to performance concerns.

Resolution

As mentioned in the Template, the maximum allowed entries is 1200 rows. This cannot be increased to avoid Performance issues.

Please kindly follow the advise to split your file with each template having up to 1200 entries, if you want to upload more entries.
