Symptom

The error "Save the business partner before creating new contact persons" is raised while creating a contact person in a new Business Partner in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Manage Business Partner Master Data app
  2. Create a new BP
  3. Create a new contact person in the BP before saving the new BP
  4. The error "Save the business partner before creating new contact persons" is raised

Cause

The Business Partner needs to be created before the contact person is created and added. The system will not be able to link a contact person to a BP unless the BP fiest exists.

Resolution

Create/add a contact person in the BP once the BP has been created
