3356466 - Receiver Email is Expected to Appear with Upper and Lower Cases Characters

Symptom

You have maintained an e-mail address in the format XXccbbFF@XXX.com (please notice the upper and lower case used).

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

Maintain a receiver e-mail in the format XXccbbFF@XXX.com for example:

  1. Go to the Receivables work center.
  2. Select the view Dunning.
  3. Search and find Dunning ID 123 (123 represents the Dunning ID).
  4. Select the button Preview.
  5. Select Send Options.
  6. Here we can see the e-mail address is maintained as XXccbbFF@XXX.com (please note the upper and lower case).

When the e-mail is sent the e-mail naming convention is always lower case in this example  xxccbbff@xxx.com

Cause

This is expected system behaviour. SAP is following the RFC 821/822 ff  were SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) - upper case lower cases are irrelevant.

Resolution

System is following the RFC 821/822 ff Standard as SAP is not planning to make any enhancements.
