3356828 - How to remove data spaces from mixed data and log device - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Some parts of log device was added to data segment by mistake. 
  • There is only one log device in the DB.
  • When trying to remove the data space from log device using alter database off command, the following msg occurred and alter database off command failed.
    1> alter database test off test_log01
    2> go
    Msg 5054, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'BSE', Line 1:
    You cannot remove 6400 log pages (100 MB) from database 'test' because the log size is 6400 (100 MB).
