3356894 - The failed import job information is missing from Date Timeline in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

When a import job is failed due to no Maintain rights, the failed history cannot be confirmed in Data Timeline panel

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2023.08

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a user and assign it with BI Admin role to make the user has all rights.
  2. Create a New Model type model, and setup a new import job.
  3. Set the job frequency as Once and refresh date to be a future time.
  4. Now create a new Role, which has Maintain for Analytic Model denied, and remove "BI Admin" role, add this new role to the user in step 1.
  5. Wait for the job execution happen.
  6. Check the job history, and find that nothing present. (Neither Failed nor Success).

Cause

  • This is product limitation that error would be faster to detect if it is displayed on the timeline.

Resolution

  • Refresh failed error can be found in Management > Monitor.
