3357391 - Default variable values do not stay saved for story using Universe data source in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) & SAP Digital Boardroom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

• When defining a default variable value in variable prompt, you would like to keep this saved at all times for the story whenever users are opening it.
• The story uses Universe model.

SAP Analytics Cloud

1. Log on to SAC.
2. Open story that is based on Universe backend source.
3. Create a default variable prompt.
4. Save story.
5. Re-open story and change the variable values.
6. Notice when saving and opening this story again, the variable dialog will show the newly changed values, and not the default.

This is a by-design behavior for the product.

• At the moment, using dynamic/exit variables is not supported with stories based on Universe models.
• Once user changes a prompt value, then that will be displayed when refreshing.
