3358304 - No value shows when adding some dimension as page filter or story filter in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Add some dimension as a story or page filter
• No data shows when trying set filter, only "All" shows

• SAP Analytics Cloud 2022.8.14

1. Open story based on live BW connection.
2. Click the problem page or story filter.
   => Note no values show only "All" displays.
3. Try to add filter in builder panel for same dimension, value shows.

• The behavior is by design.

• For dimension A, the list of dimension values that is present in the dimension depends on which measure is included in the query for fetching dimension values. 

  This creates a problem for story and page filters in general.  Since they affect all widgets in the page (for page filters) or the entire story (for story filters). In order to determine to entire set of values available for a specific dimension, SAC may need to include all the measures defined in the model in the query for fetching the list of dimension values. 

  This can be extremely slow and inefficient.  Thus instead of using all the measures, only the measures defined in the Dynamic Filters defined on the measure structure are included in the query.  For the model, the measures included in the Dynamic Filters do not result in any booked data being returned for that dimension. Thus there is no dimension values shown when creating the filter on the dimension or after clicking on the filter.

• See if we can modify the Dynamic Filters defined in the model to include measures that have desired booked values for this particular dimension.
• When creating a story or page filter on the dimension A, create it using unbooked model and turn off filter cascading.
