Symptom

  • When exporting SAP HANA repository metadata from the command line as shown: 

          al_engine -X -U<repo database user> -P<repository database password> -S<repository database server name> -NHANA -Q<repository database name>

  • the following message is displayed.

          CON-120307: Initialization ODBC call to connect database failed with error: for data source failed: <[SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB SO][HDBODBC] General error;-10719 Connect failed (invalid SERVERNODE 'example.com')>. Notify Customer Support.>.
