3362101 - Input control does not reflect changes a change in model variables in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Story contains an input control reflecting the value of hierarchy
• When the model prompts are edited and a different hierarchy is selected the story updates to reflect the new selection
• The Input Control however stays the same

• SAP Analytics Cloud 2023.8.14

1. Create a story based off of BW Live data that contain hierarchial prompts
2. Add a table to display the hierarchy
3. Add an input control for that hierachial dimension
4. In the Tools menu select edit prompts
5. Change the selected hierachy
6. Notice the table is updated but the Input Control shows the old value

• This behaviour is by design. Filters do not switch the hierarchy based on model variables.

• The suggestion is to create the filters on the fly as a Story Filter.
• This way you can configure the Story Filter to use whatever hierarchy desired.
