3362258 - "Error during execution CL_BICS_INA_PROC_DATA_QV _APPLY_EXCEPTIONS_V2" in the classic data analyzer in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

You create some calculated measures and use them in the table. Now, you open the data analyzer on top of the table and get an error.

  • Errors
    Server Error
    Error during execution CL_BICS_INA_PROC_DATA_QV _APPLY_EXCEPTIONS_V2
    Warnings
    Server Warning (2)
    Invalid selection for characteristic xxxxxxxxxxxx Key Figures
    Custom sort of structure 'Key Figures' not fully applied due to unknown measures.

If you remove these calculations, you are able to jump to the data analyzer from the table.

The issue only happens in the classic story / class data analyzer. It does not happen in the unified story / new data analyzer.

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a classic story.
  2. In the table menu of the table table, click "Open data analyzer"
  3. Error is shown in the opened data analyzer.

Cause

This is a known issue with calculated measures in Classic Data Analyzer but it has been fixed in the newer version of Data Analyzer. 

Resolution

This is a known issue with calculated measures in the Classic Data Analyzer but it has been fixed in the newer version of the Data Analyzer.

The SAC development team are putting all our development efforts towards the new version which works with the new optimized story stack.

In the long term, we advise you to use the new Data Analyzer. 

In the short term, you can try the following workarounds:

  • add an operator in the formula of the calculated measures, e.g. 1*[xxxxxxx]
