3362505 - Intermediate DigiCert certificate will be updated - SAP Cloud Integration for data services

Symptom

As a follow-up to the recent announcement from our certificate authority (DigiCert - https://knowledge.digicert.com/generalinformation/digicert-root-and-intermediate-ca-certificate-updates-2023.html), note that the SAP Cloud Integration for data services root certificate is already up-to-date and the new TLS/SSL intermediate certificate will be updated starting in October of 2023.

Impact:

SAP Cloud Integration for data services Server/Agent communication: No action is needed for supported Agents from release 2209 and higher. Refer to KBA 3375774 How to check Cloud Integration for data services Agent version, should you require assistance verifying your Agent version.

Web Services for SAP Cloud Integration for data services: If you are using an external scheduler to execute jobs, verify if TLS/SSL is in use and what certificate is being used. If you are using an intermediate certificate rather than a root certificate, you will need to add a new intermediate certificate.

Datastores: Any datastores connecting to SAP applications using TLS/SSL might be impacted if the SAP product has not yet updated the certificates. Make sure to check for product-specific notifications to know the update date of each product.  For example, customers connecting to IBP datastores will receive notifications directly from the SAP IBP team. Also, for IBP datastores, follow the instructions in Knowledge Base Article 3369491.

Certificate:

New intermediate certificate: DigiCert Global G2 TLS RSA SHA256 2020 CA1 can be downloaded from DigiCert https://www.digicert.com/kb/digicert-root-certificates.htm.
