The message “The dimension contains too many members to display. Select members for filtering" appears in Filter by Member dialog.

• SAP Analysis for Office

1. Select a Characteristic in AO Design Panel
2. Right click > Filter by Member
   
3. Confirm the message in filter dialog pop-up: “The dimension contains too many members to display. Select members for filtering.”

The value of the Analysis for Office setting FetchMemberLimit is lower than the number of available members for filtering.

E.g.

The value is 1.

And there are 2 members available for filtering, then the message will appear.

1. Open Analysis for Office > File > Analysis > Customize Analysis > Technical Configuration
2. Change the value of FetchMemberLimit to a number greater than the number of members available. E.g: 1000 (default)
   1. 
3. Close AO and reopen it (for the setting to take effect)
4. Open the affected query
5. Select a Characteristic in AO Design Panel
6. Right click > Filter by Member
7. All members available for filtering are displayed in the dialog
