3362665 - Application server cannot connect to HANA DB with error "System call 'connect' failed, rc=110:Connection timed out".

Symptom

You notice application server cannot connect to HANA DB and "R3trans -d" failed with 0012.

In trans.log, you notice below error:

*** ERROR => Connect to database failed, rc=1, rcSQL=-10709
SQLCODE : -10709
SQLERRTEXT : Connection failed (RTE:[89006] System call 'connect' failed, rc=110:Connection timed out (hostname:port))

Upon checking, you notice HANA services all up and running and hdbsql command also works.
