3363456 - Candidate Search Results Different to Ad Hoc Reporting - Recruiting Management

When searching for candidate with certain filters applied, the results vary compared to that in Ad Hoc Reporting with the same fields selected. 

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

1. Navigate to Recruiting → Go to Candidates → Candidate Search; 'KEYWORD AND ITEM SEARCH'
2. Apply filters to the search criteria 
3. Note Results 
4. Go to Reporting → New → Table → Single Domain → Recruiting V2
5. Select Columns → Candidate → Select the same as in the Candidate Search 
6. Note results will be different 

This is an expected behaviour. 

Comparing candidate search results vs. Ad hoc Reporting is not a fair test. 

There are multiple reasons for the differences. 

1. Anonymized candidates may appear in ad hoc reports but not in candidate search. 
2. Ad hoc reporting does not restrict data or have permissions for who can report, once they have access to recruiting V2, they can report on almost everything
3. Candidate search respects candidate privacy options – e.g. only searchable to recruiters in my country of residence etc. Ad hoc does not. 
4. Depending on settings – maybe only candidates who accept DPCS are searchable, Ad hoc reporting is not restricted by DPCS acceptance
5. Internal candidates are searchable only if employee has read access to EP fields, Ad hoc does not require this etc.
6. Candidate search is based on Solr indexing, which may be different or require reindex to update the results. 
7. Choosing columns across different tables brings different results in ad hoc reporting.
