3363936 - How to clear stocks in current period and previous period

The stock of a material needs to be cleared in a plant or a storage location (for example, in order to change the Batch Management Indicator in material master).

This requires the stock is zero in both the current and previous periods.

To clear the stock in the two periods, material stock situation before the posting in both periods should be considered:

Case 1) Same quantity in the two periods.
For example,
Previous period: 10 PC.
Current period : 10 PC.

Steps to clear stock:

1. Execute app Post Goods Movement (MIGO).
2. Post goods issue with movement type 562 for quantity 10 PC in the previous period (with a posting date in the previous period).
3. Check material master, after the posting of the goods movement you will have:
   Previous period: 0 PC.
   Current period : 0 PC.

Case 2) More quantity in the current period.
For example,
Previous period: 10 PC.
Current period : 15 PC.

Steps to clear stock:

1. Execute app Post Goods Movement (MIGO).
2. Post goods issue with movement type 562 for quantity 10 PC in the previous period. This will clear the stock in the previous period and will leave 5 PC in the current period.
3. Post goods issue with movement type 562 for quantity 5 PC in the current period to clear the stock completely.
4. Check material master, after the posting of the goods movement you will have:
   Previous period: 0 PC.
   Current period : 0 PC.

Case 3) More quantity in the previous period.
For example,
Previous period: 10 PC.
Current period :  5 PC.

Steps to clear stock:

1. Execute app Post Goods Movement (MIGO).
2. Post a goods receipt with movement type 561 for quantity 5 PC in the current period so that the stock quantity in current period and previous period is same.
3. Post goods issue with movement type 562 for quantity 10 PC in the previous period.
4. Check material master, after the posting of the goods movement you will have:
   Previous period: 0 PC.
   Current period : 0 PC.
