3365083 - Scripting is not supported in responsive pages converted from Classic to Optimized Story Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC):

• After converting a story from Classic to Optimized Story Experience, you find that the responsive page doesn't support scripting features.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.Q2 and higher versions

1. Convert a story from Classic to Optimized Story Experience.
2. Try to use scripting related features on a responsive page.

The current design is as below:

Summary:

• The Advanced Responsive Page with scripting support is released with QRC2/2023 Release.
• The functionality to support scripting within a Responsive Page is exclusively available in stories created using the New Optimized Story Experience since QRC2/2023 Release.
• Any responsive pages that are converted from Classic to Optimized Story Experience will not support scripting. This also applies to newly created responsive pages within a story that has been converted.
• The migration to Advanced Responsive Page that supports scripting is planned for QRC4/2023 Release. This migration is manual and optional.

Other Notes:

• Scripting is supported on Canvas Page.
• Scripting remains supported in applications converted from classic to Optimized Story Experience.

If you would like to use the scripting for the responsive pages of the stories converted from the classic story, please wait for Q4 2023 and perform the manual conversion.
