3365409 - Analysis of certificate pop-ups in the browser

Symptom

When accessing any web-based application via HTTPS, a certificate pop-up is presented in the browser.

This behavior may or not be desired, and the root cause is wanted to be known.

Environment

Web-based applications accessed via HTTPS of AS ABAP systems, via a Web Dispatcher or directly reaching the backend server.

SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP all versions ; SAP S/4HANA all versions
