3365746 - Error while changing the G/L account type from Balance sheet account to Primary Costs or Revenue

Upon changing the G/L account type from Balance sheet account to Primary Costs or Revenue, getting the error 'Change the Balance sheet control only if nothing has been posted yet'.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to App 'Manage G/L Account Master Data'.
2. Select the G/L account and click on edit.
3. In edit mode change the G/L Account type from Balance Sheet Account to Primary Costs or Revenue and click on save.
4. Error is displayed.
   
   
   

Even if the balance of G/L account is zero the change is strictly forbidden, because the G/L account has already been posted to.

To change a G/L account type the G/L account must have zero balance and no postings in all your systems For Ex (development, test, and production). Since postings already exist for the G/L account the G/L account type cannot be changed. Preferably a new G/L account is to be created.
