3366058 - "There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network..." error happens for some users sometimes in EPM Add-in

Symptom

The workflow is to log from Enterprise Portal to BPC web and then from the BPC web to EPM Add-in.

The jump to BPC web works. However, when jumping from BPC web to EPM Add-in, the following error occurs:

  • There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network. See inner exception for more details.
    Encountered unexpected character '<'.

The issue is intermittent.

If you check the Fiddler trace of the whole process, you find there are some HTTP requests and some HTTPS requests.
