3366384 - First time slice of future dated Personal Information records cannot be hidden from profile - Employee Central

Symptom

Users are able to see first time slice of future records for portlets such as Personal Information, Dependents and Address portlet without having "Future Dated Transaction Alert" permission for these elements.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to user's profile.
  2. Navigate to Personal Information portlet.
  3. Insert the following future dated personal information records and click 'save.'

  • In the permission role, grant the permission to view the history of Personal Information "Employee Central Effective Dated Entities" and disable the permission to see Future Dated Transaction Alert for personal information in "Employee Data".
  • Navigate to user profile and click on history button in Personal information portlet.
  • You can see first time slice of future data change. Only the time slice 2020-1-1 is displayed.

Cause

Resolution

  • Engineering Team have confirmed that the issue will be fixed in 2H 2023(b2311) release.

  • As a workaround, remove the permission to view the history of personal information portlet for the users who shouldn't see the future changes. This will also stop them from seeing the past changes.
