3366499 - Opening story from Calendar Task throws error when bookmark is applied in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) & SAP Digital Boardroom

Symptom

The following error message occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

  • "Bookmark is partially applied"
  • "The bookmark contains the following conflicts that cannot be applied: YYY"
  • The issue typically occurs when launching the story from calendar task and the story is in classic story design mode.
  • Calendar task has context filter applied.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2023.8.18

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAC.
  2. Open Story from Calendar work file.
  3. Save the input form under bookmarks.
  4. Open Saved Bookmark.
  5. Notice the warnings.

Cause

  • The issue has been reviewed by development team.
  • The cause was that user had applied the bookmark filtering on the same dimension as story filtering/calendar task was applied to. 

Resolution

Please either decide on setting the filters via the bookmark feature or the calendar task context.
