Symptom

  • Deleted an association from Data Source tab in Custom CDS Views app.
  • Getting error: The table name _I_XYZ is unknown or obscured by an alias.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Custom CDS Views app.
  2. Select a custom CDS view.
  3. Go to Data Sources tab.
  4. Remove an association (as long as the association is not being used by a dependency).
  5. Click on publish.
  6. The error "The table name _I_XYZ is unknown or obscured by an alias." is raised.

Cause

The association is still used in the custom CDS view, very likely in a Calculation field.

Resolution

A review should be carried out of the calculation fields in the Custom CDS view, in order to remove the usages.
