3367889 - XXXX is a Required Field/Association in Object Employee Time Calendar Error When Trying to Create Leave Request

You are getting an error when creating a leave request. User creates a leave request for weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday). The system cannot create the request and throws below error.

1. Physical End Date is a required field/association in Object Employee Time Calendar.
2. Physical Start Date is a required field/association in Object Employee Time Calendar.
3. Date is a required field/association in Object Employee Time Calendar.
4. External Code is a required field/association in Object Employee Time Calendar

Employee Central Time Off

Error occurs while requesting absence:

1. Go to user
2. Absence Request Page
3. Time type 
4. Select a weekend Saturday, Sunday or both
5. Submit

• Error is thrown
• Error does not occur for week days requests

Configuration issue

The issue is due to the save rule "Deduction_CalendarDays" attached to the Employee Time object. 

The value retrieved for the EmployeeTimeCalendar is null because there is no calendar entry for non-working days.

If you want to count the weekends, please use the Absence Counting Method with Calculation method as calendar days.

However for the time being there is system restriction- You must not modify the standard fields (quantityInDays, quantityInHours deductionQuantity, undeterminedEndDate, fractionQuantity, startDate, endDate, startTime, endTime) using a SET statement in the Employee Time object Save rule, Validate rule, or Post-Save rules because this can lead to inconsistent data. The system shows a warning message.
