3368337 - Unable to Merge the Change Project in the Tenant

Symptom

When you Merge the Change Project from Test tenant to Production tenant, you can see the merge status as Failed.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center
  2. Access the Implementation Projects work center view
  3. Choose the relevant change project
  4. Select Open Activity List
  5. Choose Merge Changes & Start Merge
  6. The merge will end with status Failed

Cause

The Change Project failed to merge because of Version Mismatch between Test & Production Tenant.

Resolution

When you are performing Merge Changes both Test & Production Tenant should be in the same Version.

Tenant upgrades are done on quarterly basis. The test tenants are upgraded first in order to test the functionality of the new version, Once the test tenant is upgraded successfully after 2-3 weeks production tenants are upgraded.

If Test tenant is in Higher Version & Production tenant is in Lower Version, you have to wait till the production tenant gets upgraded to the version of Test tenant.
