3368761 - Dynamic Visit Planning Route Group Doesn't Generate Visit List

Symptom

Dynamic Visit Planning(DVP) Route Group doesn't generate visit list.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud
  • Dynamic Visit Planning Add-on

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Dynamic Visit Planning Work Center
  2. Go Route Group View
  3. Open your route group
  4. Go to Visit List tab
  5. Select the time period
  6. There's no expected visit list

Cause

Scenario I: Visit List Generation Schedule was not maintained or maintained incorrectly for your route group's visit type and sales data(sales organization, division, and distribution channel) combination. If visit list generation schedule was not maintained for your route group's visit type and sales data combination, the field "Visit List Generation Status" is invisible in the header of the active route group.

Scenario II: The route group is not Active.

Scenario III: Your user is not the owner of your route group.

Scenario IV: The visit list generation is in process/scheduled.

Scenario V: The visit list generation failed. The field "Visit List Generation Status" shows the value "failed".

Scenario VI: The route groups which has the same owner and for different accounts were merged by the end user in the Visit List view before. There are two ways to merge. The first way is that route groups need to be selected first and the action "Update Fields" needs to be done. The second way is that if route groups that have the same owner and for different accounts are on the same date, the action merge could be clicked.

Resolution

Scenario I: Please maintain your visit list generation schedule for your route group's visit type and sales data(sales organization, division, and distribution channel) combination.

  1. Go to Dynamic Visit Planning Work Center
  2. Go Visit Administration -> Visit Generation View
  3. Maintain the visit list generation schedule
  4. The visit type of visit list generation schedule should be the same as the one in the route group
  5. The sales data of visit list generation schedule should match the sales data in the route group exactly
  6. Maintain "Visit List Generation" -  Days in Advance for Visit List Generation
  7. Maintain "Visit Generation" - Days in Advance for Visit Generation
  8. For example, create a visit generation schedule with the following details:
    • Visit Type: Van Seller
    • Sales Organization: VG Parent Unit
    • Distribution Channel: 02
    • Division: 02
    • Days in Advance for Visit List: 5
    • Days in Advance for Visit:  3
    • "Starting from" of each account = "Valid from" of route group
    • If you activate the route group on April 10th, then the system generates a visit list from April 10th to April 15th. If the route group is activated on April 9th, the system generates a visit list until April 14th. For a route group that is valid from April 10th, the system generates the visit list on April 5th, which is five days before the start date and the visit on April 7th, which is three days before the start date.
  9. Make your route group Active (if your route group without a visit list generation schedule is in active status before step 3, please do a dummy change for the status of your route group)
  10. The field "Visit List Generation Status" shows up and shows the value "Scheduled"
  11. Wait some time
  12. You will see the value updated for the field "Visit list generated Until"

Scenario II: Please make the status of your route group "Active".

  1. Go to Dynamic Visit Planning Work Center
  2. Go Route Group View
  3. Open your route group
  4. Click the status of your route group
  5. Choose "Active"

Scenario III: Please check the generated visit lists under the Visit List view by selecting the owner via the owner filter.

Please refer to 3324081 - Could not see Visit List for Route Group.

Scenario IV: The visit list generation is in process/scheduled.

There will be a background job run every 8 minutes for generating visit lists. After the visit list generation schedule maintenance, please wait about 8 minutes for the next scheduled generation.

Scenario V: The visit list generation failed. The field "Visit List Generation Status" shows the value "failed".

Please report one ticket to SAP along with the screenshot of your route group.

Scenario VI: The route groups which has the same owner and for different accounts were merged by the end user before in the Visit List views.

This is the expected system behavior that after the successful merge, visit list items are merged into one route group.
