Environment

Reproducing the Issue
- Log in to system
- Go to home page dropdown > Goals
- Select a goal plan
- Select Add Goal > Create New Goal
- The Add Goal screen pops up but there are no initiatives at the bottom of the screen
Cause
- Employee is a new hire but shows in the initiative assignment group (expected behavior)
- Employee isn't part of the initiative assignment group
- The initiative group hasn't been aligned with the goal plan
Resolution
I. Employee is a new hire but shows in the initiative assignment group (expected behavior)
It is an expected behavior that an employee hired after an initiative is created will show up in the initiative assignment group, but they will not see the initiatives when they create a goal. The initiative will need to be refreshed/resaved in order for new employees to see the initiatives:
- Navigate to Manage Initiatives
- Locate an initiative > select the Action icon > Edit
- Don't make any changes > Save
NOTE: There is an existing Improvement Request logged here: New users or newly imported users will not see initiatives unless initiatives groups are refreshed.. Please vote on it to let Product Management know the refresh functionality is important to your organization.
II. Employee isn't part of the initiative assignment group
- Navigate to Manage Initiatives
- Locate an initiative and click the number hyperlink under the Group Members column
- Check if the employee is present
- If the employee is not present, follow the steps in Implementing and Managing Goal Management - Assigning an Initiative Group to assign an initiative to a group and goal plan
III. The initiative group hasn't been aligned with the goal plan
- Navigate to Manage Initiatives
- Locate an initiative > select the Action icon > Assign
- Select the Align With Goal Plan tab
- Check the box next to the goal plan that should be tied to the initiative group > Done
