Process Characteristics and element report shows wrong date format for Date attribute column?

The date format set in Process Manager > setup > Define notations/attributes BPMN 2.0 > BPMN-Diagram (Diagram element types)> select the attribute to check the Date format is causing this issue. It should be m/d/Y (for example, 01/09/2017). By default, the format is m/d/Y. Here is an article that explains this behavior. 

Once a date format is set, it cannot be changed, therefore the attribute might need to be deleted and re-create it with correct format to fix this issue.
