3369914 - DTP fails with error: Value '' of characteristic {object} is not a number with {XXXXXX} spaces

Symptom

After upgrading to BW4/HANA, the below error occurs while loading data with empty (initial) DATS/TIMS attributes:

SID error for record &1, InfoObject &2 and value   (Message no. RSDSO_UPDATE015)
Value '' of characteristic 0TIME is not a number with 000006 spaces   (Message No. BRAIN019)
Value '' of characteristic 0DATE is not a number with 000008 spaces   (Message No. BRAIN019)
