3370086 - The data action <> couldn't run successfully on version <> because it tried to copy data that is booked on non-leaf members, which is not supported error with cross model copy data actions in SAP Analytics Cloud

The following error occurs when you run a cross model copy data action step in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

• The job has failed.
  The data action <> couldn't run successfully on version <> because it tried to copy data that is booked on non-leaf members, which is not supported. To include this data, please reconfigure the auto-mapping source hierarchies.

This message also appears when viewing or updating the data action step:

• This data action recently tried to copy data that is booked on non-leaf members, which is not supported. To include this data, please configure an auto-mapping source hierarchy in which the data is booked on leaf members. Dismissing this message will ignore facts booked on non-leaf members in future executions. Learn More...

1. Run a cross model copy data action.

• A cross-model copy step in a data action only copies data that is booked (planned / input) on leaf members. Before the last update, there were certain configurations in which data booked on non-leaf members was accidentally copied as well. This was done without any validation and could corrupt the target version.

To avoid silently breaking existing workflows, a check was introduced which lets the data action fail until the issue has been resolved manually.

You can now proceed in two ways depending on your needs:
1. You do not need the data that is booked on non-leaf members:

Open the data action and select the cross-model copy step. At the top, you should see a red error message explaining again that the data action tried to copy data that is booked on non-leaf members. Remove this message using the X button and save the data action.

From then on, the data action should no longer fail. The data booked on non-leaf members will not be copied. Please verify the result of the data action to make sure that all necessary data is still included.

2. You need the data that is booked on non-leaf members:

Open the data action, select the cross-model copy step and open the mapping configuration for the source dimension(s) of the affected non-leaf members. In the top section you will be able to select the source hierarchy. You need to select a source hierarchy in which the affected members are leaf members (as well as all other members that are needed). If there is no such hierarchy, it must be created in the model first. You can expand the auto-created copy rules to verify that all necessary members are copied.

If you do not need all these members, you can also remove the error message to ignore data that is booked on the remaining non-leaf members (see above).

Afterwards, please verify the result of the data action to make sure that all necessary data is included.
