3370106 - Number Range for Product

Symptom

You want to maintain the number range for Product's internal ID and external ID.

Environment

  • SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to User Menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select All Settings.
  4. Open Number Range under Products.
  5. You can create Number Range interval.

Resolution

Scenario I: Product Internal ID

•    While creating Product in the fronted UI or data impex, if you leave field "Product ID" empty, the Product ID will be automatically generated according to the number range setting maintained in the system.
•    While creating Product in the fronted UI, you can manually enter the "Product ID" out of the number range.
•    While importing Products via data impex, you can manually enter the "Product ID" out of the number range.

Scenario II: Product External ID

There's no number range setting for product external ID in Sales/Service Cloud Version 2. The value for field "External ID" can be provided in any kind. During the integration replication, the external number will be copied over to Sales/Service Cloud Version 2.
