3371121 - "Optimize Story Builder Performance" tables cannot be refreshed in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

When "Optimize Story Builder Performance" is selected for the BW live model, the refresh button in the toolbar of the story cannot refresh the table of this BW live model.
Only the refresh button in the table builder can refresh the table.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

1. Create a story.
2. Add a table for a BW live model with "Optimize Story Builder Performance" selected.
3. Make sure changes (for example, change the value for the input control or the filter)
4. Click the Refresh button in the toolbar.
5. The table is not updated according to the new setting.

This works as designed.

• If the model is set to optimize story builder performance and user clicks on toolbar refresh, then as per the code, we do not refresh anything
• We have a code check for expensive model (i.e. model with optimized story builder performance). If that is true, then we do not refresh anything. And this logic is been there since several years.
• So once the user adds dimension input control and clicks on refresh button in toolbar, table is not getting updated because we are not refreshing.
• Only way to refresh is through builder panel. And this is working as designed.

Go to the warning message at the top of the Builder panel and click the refresh button there.
