3371538 - "User mapping check failed" error in Work Tech Configuration

Symptom

  • Error "The app is unavailable due to user mapping issues. Please contact your administrator for help." when trying to connect to the SF App
  • "User mapping check failed" error showing in the "Work Tech Configuration" page 
  • Error "Unable to map users because there is no person found in Azure AD based on the user mapping you configured"

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access "Work Tech Configuration"
  2. Go to SAP SuccessFactors Teams App User Mapping 
  3. See Mapping Status show "error"
  4. Click View Error Details
    Error "User mapping check failed"

Resolution

Admin UI shows user mapping failure

Please review Azure user page for the user being used in SuccessFactors to ensure the user's userPrincipalName (UPN) is indeed the same as user's email field in User Data File (UDF).

As a prerequisite for users to have User Search and Employee export permissions (and target population) permission, so that the underlying User API can return expected result.

Users can't open Teams app successfully

If this is a case of GA/CE user, it will only be supported in 2311 release; if the three users don't belong to the same person, then it is a configuration error.
