3371538 - "User mapping check failed" error in Work Tech Configuration

• Error "The app is unavailable due to user mapping issues. Please contact your administrator for help." when trying to connect to the SF App
• "User mapping check failed" error showing in the "Work Tech Configuration" page 
• Error "Unable to map users because there is no person found in Azure AD based on the user mapping you configured"

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Access "Work Tech Configuration"
2. Go to SAP SuccessFactors Teams App User Mapping 
3. See Mapping Status show "error"
4. Click View Error Details
   Error "User mapping check failed"

Mismatch in the User data value between Azure and SuccessFactors

Admin UI shows user mapping failure:

In the User Mapping area, the "User Identifier in SAP SuccessFactors" and "User Identifier in Azure AD" values should be identical.

Verify the Azure user page for the user used in SuccessFactors to confirm that the "User Identifier in SAP SuccessFactors" matches the "User Identifier in Azure AD" value.

Example: In the above demo snapshot, the userPrincipalName in Azure is exactly the same as the username in SuccessFactors.

As a prerequisite if users (admin and non admin users) have User Search and Employee export permissions ensure that the users are included in the target population, so that the underlying User API can return expected result.
Alternatively, you can ensure the users do not have the permission either so they are not excluded from the API call. 

Users can't open Teams app successfully

If this is a case of GA/CE user, it will only be supported in 2311 release; if the three users don't belong to the same person, then it is a configuration error.

Note: On the Work Tech configuration page, the user mapping status currently reflects only the status for the logged-in user, not all users. However, in the 1H 2505 release, we have introduce validation for other users' mapping statuses on the admin page. This enhancement will enable administrators to check the mapping status of other employees more effectively.
