3372443 - Custom Data Source is missing as reference to Cloud Data Source

Symptom

Custom data source is not showing in Referencing Data Source value help for Cloud Data Source in edit mode.

Environment

SAP Cloud For Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business analytics --> Design Data Sources
  2. Search for your Cloud Data Source and click on Edit.
  3. Scroll to the right for the column Referencing Data Source and click on the value help.
  4. Search for your custom data source
  5. Notice it does not show in the list.

Cause

Only standard data sources will show in the value help for the field "Referencing Data Sources".

The reason being is custom data sources are only a collection of standard data source and are not the original reference object.

Resolution

To see what data sources are referenced please follow the below steps:

  1. Go to Business Analytics
  2. Go to Design Data sources
  3. Search for your data source
  4. Click on the tab "Referenced Data Sources" to see what data sources are references.
